Jonathan is the Medical Director of the Caulfield Family Medical Practice, Travel Clinics Australia and Fragile X Alliance Clinic. Jonathan graduated from Monash University and in 1985 joined Caulfield Family Medical Practice to work with Dr Joseph Cohen ( who grudgingly retired in 2008 at the age of 93 after 68 years of practice). Over the following decade Jonathan undertook further study successfully gaining the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Australasian College of Tropical Medicine, Certificate of Travel Health from the International Society of Travel Medicine and a Postgraduate Masters of Family Medicine. He is currently Adjunct Senior Research Fellow with the Centre for Developmental Disability Health Victoria, Monash University Department of General Practice and Honorary Research Fellow with the Murdoch Childrens’ Research Institute. He is involved with numerous research projects, author of multiple articles for medical, allied health journals and the lay press and presents regularly throughout Australasia on fragile X syndrome and travel health.
When not at work, Jonathan enjoys playing guitar with groups or recording sessions, performing various handyman projects, cycling down beach road or reading a book.
Jonathan’s main interest areas include travel health, fragile X syndrome and preventive health.
